Khachaturian: Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 46
Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. IV in F minor, Op. 36
Miskolc Symphony Orchestra
Violin: Francesco De Angelis
Conductor: Rico Saccani
Aram Khachaturian's famous Violin Concerto is one of his most popular compositions, and there is also a flute version of it. The composer enjoyed blending elements of Armenian folk music with the traditional language of European music, and it is precisely the moments rooted in folklore that give the Violin Concerto its unique "flavor," with its Eastern melodies and passionate rhythms.
The performer will be Francesco De Angelis, concertmaster and solo violinist of La Scala and the Filarmonica. – Who doesn't recognize the famous Russian folk song that begins with "There stands a young birch in the field..."? Tchaikovsky’s brilliant variations, written on this melody, will captivate us in the finale of his Symphony No. IV. The world-renowned Rico Saccani, conductor of the Budapest Philharmonic and once the first guest conductor of our Opera House, has been a prominent figure in the international music scene for decades.
